1/48 scale drill rig model commissioned by Lincoln Trail College, Robinson, IL.

This drill rig model was designed and built for the petroleum engineering class at Lincoln Trail College. Due to budget restrictions from current oil prices, the college was limited to the derrick and substructure with all the detailed components within such as the top drive and blocks, iron roughneck, BOP, drawworks & drillers console, tongs, air chuckars, and automated catwalk.

A slingshot substructure was incorporated to allow for better exposure and viewing of the BOP. Future hopes are to add the rest of the components to finish a complete rig site as budget opportunities arise.
